My husband Robert is currently a student at Concordia University. He is taking a Music Pop Culture class and his professor puts on a benefit concert every year called Ben & I Play for Peace. The concert is to help raise money for The Wounded Warriors Project and Wheelchairs for Iraqi kids. Dr. Perlak, Robert's professor, encouraged her students to participate and help gather sponsors. Robert served 5 years active duty in the Army before joining the Army Reserves so this project touched him deeply and he began knocking on doors to help raise money for this cause. Dr. Perlak gave her students a list of items that were needed to help make this event come together. Robert came home one day and said he had signed me up as a sponsor to photograph the entire event. I was extremely flattered and happy to donate my time and be apart of such a great cause!
I encourage you all to click on the link below to read up on the story behind Ben & I and how it all started. It is a beautiful story full of people with big hearts, Ben and Dr. Perlak are two of these people. With their amazing talent and beautiful music, they have raised thousands of dollars to help so many Iraqi children. http://www.benandiplayforpeace.com/
I wish you could have heard the music that was produced that day! It was extraordinary and a day I will never forget!
I am so proud of my wonderful husband and for sharing his words! He never ceases to amaze me!
